This image is one of three I used in a comic-book-like poster for a story idea. In the poster I focused on one character, who happens to be my sister, Mary. I scanned old pictures of her and cut them out in Adobe Photoshop. I used different effects and elements from both Photoshop and Illustrator to achieve this design. Though I do use photography, as opposed to illustration, I felt it would fit better with the comic-book theme if I gave the image a halftone effect, as if the image were made on a press. The hand and glow are not in the same style because they are the focal point of this design. Also, I wanted the emphasis to be on the power that this character has.
